Medication Assisted Treatment
The Best Care
Opioid treatment programs provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for persons diagnosed with opioid-use disorder. Programs use medications, such as methadone, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a whole-patient approach to the treatment of substance use disorders.
Research shows that when treating substance-use disorders, a combination of medication and behavioral therapies is most successful. Here at Keetoowah Cherokee Treatment Services we offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) that is clinically driven with a focus on individualized
patient care as well as group, family and individual therapy-helping to bring the family together again. Patients begin treatment with daily visits to the clinic to receive medication from a dispensing nurse. Over time, some patients may graduate to less structured services.
